Recreation

Phillipsburg is located near the 11,000 acre Kirwin National Wildlife Refuge which offers opportunities for hunting, wildlife observation, fishing, boating, and hiking. The rich variety of animals provides wonderful opportunities for photography and observation. Kirwin was named by Sports Afield as one of America's 50 Best Back Country Outposts.

Recreation opportunities for all ages are available in the Phillipsburg area. For the youth of the area, Phillipsburg Youth Recreation offers football, soccer, baseball, softball, basketball, track events, wrestling, swimming, and much more. 4-H Clubs, Girl Scout, and Boy Scout organizations are also available for membership. For those young at heart the Phillips County Senior Citizen Center offers many social activities as well as the activities at the Westview Housing Authority. Each summer the Phillipsburg Men's Softball Association organizes a slow-pitch softball league. A women's volleyball league plays at the Community Building beginning in January of each year.

Be sure to visit the Phillips County Arts Council site to learn how to become a member and enjoy the scheduled events.
