The Foundation is dedicated to the ideals Huck espoused and worked for:

  • Revitalizing Rural America
  • Enhancing its Quality of Life
  • Preserving America’s Rural Heritage

The Foundation sponsors three projects:

  • The newly constructed McDill “Huck” Boyd Community Center in Phillipsburg, Kansas.
  • The Huck Boyd National Institute for Rural Development in partnership with Kansas State University, Manhattan, Kansas, whose mission is to help rural people help themselves.
  • The Huck Boyd National Center for Community Media with the A. Q. Miller School of Journalism and Mass Communications at Kansas State University, Manhattan, Kansas, which is oriented toward Huck’s life work in community journalism.
