History

Phillipsburg has a rich history dating back to the late 1800s. Most of the prominent historical figures and events can be found in “A History of Early Phillipsburg”. The city museum and Fort Bissell can be toured at no charge and offer a look at early colonial life on the plains. The Resurrection Window, built during the 1990s, is a stunning piece of modern stained glass art that covers an entire section of the east wall at United Methodist Church.
